Where to stay on the Tremiti Islands

Accommodation on the Tremiti Islands is concentrated almost entirely on San Domino: fifteen properties spanning family-run hotels, B&Bs, residences, guesthouses and a forest campsite. San Nicola has one official property. Average rates range from €70 a night in a low-season B&B to €220 on full board in August. Booking well in advance is effectively mandatory from late June to early September.

Practical advice

Booking windows: from late June to early September, book at least 2-3 months ahead. For August and the 15 August long weekend, plan 4-5 months out. In low season (October–May) you can find space last minute, but most properties close — better to phone first.

Luggage: there are no cars or taxis on the island. You move bags from the port to your hotel on foot (most hotels are 5-15 minutes from the harbour) or by panoramic tourist train, which also handles “suitcase transfers” on request (€5-10 per leg).

Payments: many properties prefer cash for small amounts (bars, restaurants, excursions). Almost all hotels accept cards. The archipelago’s only ATM, at San Domino harbour, is sometimes out of service — bring some cash.

Pets: most properties accept small dogs with a supplement of €10-20 per night. Always confirm at the time of booking.

For restaurants, see the Italian-language dove mangiare. To get to the archipelago in the first place, see getting there.
